January 2010 FSR is in the process of transforming its former broad-based aid and education programs into more narrowly defined transnational research and education initiatives in the U.S. and Afghanistan. A volunteer team of emerging young Afghan American leaders are spearheading these research and education initiatives as they develop new collaborations with academics, community leaders, and policy makers from a wide-range of disciplines and efforts. In collaboration with the UC Berkeley Center for South Asia Studies, the UC Berkeley Center for Middle Eastern Studies, other learning and research centers, and other community-based nonprofit organizations, the FSR team is organizing a May 2010 workshop at the UC Berkeley campus--more details are forthcoming Our website will soon reflect the changes we've made to our programs and services, and your patience is appreciated as we work on our updates!
