In June 2007, the Ministry of Justice registered FSR in Kabul. This means, the government in Afghanistan has formally approved FSR's intentions to conduct business throughout Afghanistan.

FSR's program and widows' research and support center in Kabul operates under the name: Afghan Women’s Social, Cultural and Development Organization at Qalai Fathullah, in front of the Madina Bazaar.

In order to expand our programs, and maximize in-country resources, we are also in the process of registering with the Ministry of Women's Affairs, and the Ministry of Economy. Narigs Aini is is the Center’s Country Administrator, and Fatima Nerow, an FSR Advisory Board member in Fremont, CA, is the Center's new Program Manager.

FSR's staff and volunteers at the Widows Research and Support Center coordinate and administer our Grants for Self-Reliance Program, Zuhra’s Literacy Classes, and our Kabul-based research.
