Information: Bob, a physician-anthropoligist, is a Professor of Anthropology and Head of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Mills College in Oakland, CA.

Dr. Anderson earned his BA, MA, and PhD at UC Berkeley; a Certificate of Advanced Studies at the University of Copenhagen; a Docteur en Sociology at Sorbonne, Université de Paris, France; and an MD at the University of Juarez, Mexico.

He is widely published and has served as Editor or as a member of the Editorial Board of several journals, including Medical Anthropology and Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He is the former Director of Research at the San Francisco Spine Institute at Seton Medical Center.

In his spare time, Dr. Anderson works as a professional volunteer and researcher at Fremont High, a "failing school" in East Oakland, CA.
