Ghafar is an Afghan refugee and a Professor of History emeritus from Kabul University and Balkh University in Afghanistan. Professor Safa immigrated to the U.S. in 2001, and has been assisting other Afghan refugees ever since his arrival. He is an Afghan historian and Afghan cultural expert. During the Taliban regime, he worked covertly as a women, human rights, and violence eradication specialist, and organized several human rights symposiums and academic conferences in Afghanistan and Pakistan. In preparation for applying to a PhD program, he is furthering his education at Chabot College in Hayward, CA, and teaching Farsi to second generation Afghan Americans. |
